Soy-Lime Dipping Sauce

An East-Asian inspired dipping sauce that is great for cold soba noodles, meatballs, and about anything else you want to dip.


  • 1 1/2 T white sugar
  • 1 T mirin
  • 1 t white miso paste (shiro miso) – optional
  • 1-2 fresh green chilis, sliced thin
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lime (juice of)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 scallion, thinly sliced


  • Put sugar, garlic, and chilis in a mortar and pestle and grind to a paste.
  • Put paste in bold and add other ingredients.
  • Stir well until sugar is dissolved.
